i made this sweater for Mary from a 1920's pattern. she wanted it modified to be long and slim, and designed the stripe pattern. i made the mistake of not buying enough yarn to finish, and when i went back to buy more, the dye lot was incredibly different. i solved the problem as best i could- i used the new lot for the sleeves and collar and added a white stripe where they would attach to the body. you can still see the difference, but it helped. the tassels are huge but mary loves them.
