in a panic i whipped up this scarf for my best friend Leigh.  i had been lovingly knitting her a bonnet that would be fabulous when it was felted.  all did not go according to plan, and it looked like a Thanksgiving dress up hat.  Leigh takes her birthday very seriously, and with only a day to spare i looked into my boxes of yarn for a quick fix.  i found a little ball of Habu yarn that i had bought years ago.  it is knitted as a tube from alpaca, and although i was not able to capture its spectacularness here in this photo, it is amazing.  to knit it loose enough, i rubber banded 2 sets of jumbo plastic needles together.  in a few minutes i had this scarf.  she loved it.
