i took this plaid scarf from my mother when i left home almost 30 years ago.  i am not even sure i told her.  she used to wear it on cold days to keep her head warm outside doing chores, or at least that is what i remember.  it is super scratchy wool, which is sometimes nice in a old timey way.  i wear it around my neck and have fond memories of our backyard in California.

i knit this beige scarf from two ends of baby merino lace weight yarn dyed slightly different colors.  i love having a little neckerchief  to wear inside on winter days.  it has a similar olden days feel to it as the plaid scarf but much softer and easier to wear for a long period of time.
